    Collision onto Footpath on New Clear Water Bay Road [22 Nov 2012] 
     

    On 20 November 2012 a private car crashed onto a busy footpath at the bottom of the highway on long steep grade, injuring 5 pedestrians. It was reported that three of the casualties were caused by a collapsed traffic sign. The event highlights the vulnerability of pedestrians alongside busy highways and the need for passive safety considerations of street furniture and sign posts.
